M.S. 22 has been chosen as a "transformation" school for the 2011-2014 school years. As part of the $2.2 million grant we are establishing master and turnaround teachers. These positions include a 30% and 15% increase respectively in current teacher salary and opportunities for experience as an instructional leader. Both internal and external candidates will be considered.

I strongly believe these positions will not only improve student achievement at our school but also provide opportunities for aspiring APs and Principals.
The process is centrally run with UFT and DOE involvement. Once a candidate is in the 'pool', a hiring committee at 22 can make final decisions.
